Bike, Walk’n Bus to School Day

Date: Wedesnday, November 2

Time: 8:20 - 8:50am

Location: Hastings Playground, line-up area

Students who arrive to school walking, biking (scooters count, too!), or taking the school bus, receive a Hastings Safe Routes sticker in the morning line-up area. 

Each month, we will set a progressive goal to count the percentage of student bikers, walkers and busers combined, and have a school-wide celebration if the goal is achieved! 

For the upcoming November 2 Safe Routes Day, the goal is 70%.

Car Rider?

We can help you plan a walking route at a walkable distance from school! We will have a gathering area for everyone and walk to school together! E-mail saferoutes@hastings-pto.org.

Bike Train 

We are constantly looking to add more bike train routes within the Hastings zone. If you can help find 2-3 or more students that can bike to school together at least once a month, then you can start a new route! Please contact Jon Schwarz at: js@jschwarz.com for more information.

We need your help!

We need more parent volunteers to host our monthly Bike, Walk’n Bus to School Day. The event dates can be found in the Hastings PTO calendar and each event lasts about ½ hour, 8:20-8:50am in the morning line-up area. Stop by on your way to work, or just arrive with your child and stay for a little while. Please e-mail your availability to: saferoutes@hastings-pto.org.
